Hello!

My name is Katherine Paydo, and I am thrilled to be the 1A teacher this year at Sacred Heart School. Being a teacher has been a dream of mine my entire life and I cannot wait to begin this school year!

I was born and raised in Wadsworth, OH by Ron and Kathleen Paydo. I am the second of four siblings with one older sister (Melissa), one younger sister (Elizabeth), and one younger brother (Matthew). My family is one of the most important parts of my life, and I am forever thankful for their support.

Growing up as a member of the Catholic faith means everything to me. I truly believe that we can do all things through Christ who gives us strength. I am thankful that I am teaching in a Catholic school, where we can talk and learn about our faith every day.

I attended Sacred Heart School from kindergarten to 8th grade. I graduated from SHS in 2008 and began high school at St. Vincent- St. Mary in Akron, OH. After graduating in 2012, I attended Kent State University. I graduated Summa Cum Laude in May 2016 with my Bachelor of Science in Early Childhood Education.

As a teacher, I believe that it takes a team to educate a child, including teachers, parents, the community, and the administration. I believe that all students should be supported and should be given the best ability to learn. I believe in a safe, respectful, nurturing environment where students feel comfortable and open to express their ideas. I believe that it is my responsibility as a teacher to prepare my students for the real world and to help them become life-long learners.

I was in first grade when I decided I wanted to become a teacher, and my dream has never changed. I am so excited to continue my teaching career at the school that inspired me to be a teacher in the first place.

Please let me know if there is anything I can do to help!
